I'm no professional (obviously), but I do have distinct tastes concerning the hardware in the drawers and cupboards.
Now, we all know some variation on the old proverb. The camera doesn't make the photographer. The club doesn't make the golfer. The beard doesn't make the Santa. And the knife doesn't make the chef.
However, a well-balanced, sharp knife will make the cooking experience a hell of a lot more pleasant. Likewise, a hand mixer makes stiff peaks a hell of a lot more pleasant than plain old whisk. A cast iron pan will vastly improve your ability to sear your steak.
In that spirit, these are some of my helpers. Speaking of favorite helpers, you'll join my list if you support this store, and with a lot of luck, I'll recoup my hosting fees.
COOKWARE
You need a cast iron skillet. This might be the most versatile object in your kitchen. Likewise, you need a dutch oven. How do you not have these things? How do you braise stews? How do you sear rib eyes? What exactly are you doing with your life?
